In the heart of Volpiano, along Via Trieste, stands Villa Rodrigo, a historic complex that for centuries has served as an architectural and cultural landmark of the area. Built in the 18th century as the residence of the Ripa di Meana family, the villa still preserves the elegance of Piedmontese noble estates: three floors arranged around an inner courtyard, service rooms, former stables, storage buildings, and a large park with centuries-old trees.
A particularly valuable element is the 1855 chapel, dedicated to Saint Cajetan, which highlights the historical and artistic significance of the complex. The entire property is protected by the national Heritage Authority, which recognizes its cultural and landscape importance.
After a long period of abandonment and deterioration, Villa Rodrigo underwent new restoration efforts that allowed it to reopen to the public. This process of revival has returned to the community a unique space, now once again animated by cultural and musical events.
Among the most notable initiatives recently hosted is the concert “Il Respiro della Musica”, performed by the Orchestra Filarmonica Volpianese under the direction of Maestro Pietro Marchetti. The event marked a highly symbolic and long-awaited moment, bringing Villa Rodrigo back to the center of Volpiano’s cultural life and reaffirming its role as a place of identity and collective memory.
Today, Villa Rodrigo is not only a restored historic complex, but also a vibrant and welcoming venue, ready to host new artistic activities while honoring its long history. The villa is part of a broader cultural enhancement project, and in recent years it has welcomed—alongside our concert—exhibitions, art events, and cultural initiatives, confirming its status as one of the most significant cultural sites in Volpiano and the surrounding area.
